Problem:
This customer was using small character continuous inkjet printers to mark extruded medical tubing with quality control codes. In addition to reliability issues with the printers, the ink was not able to withstand the chemical washing used in this environment. A method to apply a permanent mark on the tubing was required.
Solution:
After extensive testing of sample marks to ensure the integrity of the tubing would not be compromised, and several weeks of online trials, PIN Distributor, Mammoth Labels & Packaging, sold the customer three CO2 lasers printing systems. The laser printers apply permanent, high quality codes to the medical tubing.
Key Benefits:
The customer is pleased with the permanency of the mark and its ability to withstand the chemical wash down process. The mark is consistently clear and crisp. The printers are nearly maintenance free and require no ink and solvent, which provides a significant savings to this customer.
